WON HYO
Won Hyo was the name of the noted monk who introduced Buddhism to the Silla Dynasty in 686 A.D. The pattern has 28 movements.
New Techniques
High Inward Knife-Hand Strike
Fixed Stance
Bending Ready Stance A
Middle Side Piercing Kick
Circular Block w/Inner Forearm
Middle Guarding Block w/Forearm
Additional Information
For close ready stance A the left hand is wrapped around the right fist with the right side fist facing the Front. The distance between the fists and the philtrum is about 30 centimeters. The feet are placed next to each other.
A right fixed stance is with the right foot forward, and a left fixed stance is with the left foot forward. The dimensions of a fixed stance are the same as that of an L-stance. However, the weight distribution is 50/50.
The high inward knife-hand strike is directed at a 45 degree angle and toward your own neck height.
A right bending ready stance A is done when standing on the right leg while executing a left forearm guarding block. A left bending ready stance A is done when standing on the left leg while executing a right forearm guarding block. The bending ready stance is principally used as a preparation for a side kick.
The circular block is to block a combination of a hand and foot attack.
