New Techniques
Downward Thrust w/Straight Elbow
Downward Block with Forearm
Twin Knife-Hand Strike
Downward Punch
Middle Hooking Kick
High Cross Cut
Additional Information
The downward thrust with straight elbow is chiefly used for attacking the upper back or small of the back. Keep the back fist facing the front and the forearm vertical at the moment of impact.
The downward block with forearm is used to defend the rib cage. The side fist should be higher than the elbow, which is bent about 45 degrees outward at the moment of the block.
The flat fingertip is the attacking tool for the high cross cut. The target is the eyes.
The same method for the hooking block is applicable to the hooking kick. The target areas are the elbow joint for hand techniques and the Achilles' tendon for foot techniques. The blocking tool is the side instep which reaches the target in an outward curve (unlike a twisting kick). It is advisable to execute the kick at the outside of the attacking hand or foot. The kicking foot can also be used as an instantaneous counter-attack motion. Keep the outer tibia facing downward at the moment of impact.
